Vimy Lacrosse Shadow Days

The 2014 year is here and Vimy Lacrosse is officially accepting Shadow Day students. A Shadow Day at Vimy Lacrosse is an opportunity for a prospective student-athlete to come to Vimy Ridge, spend the morning in the classroom and then spend the afternoon on the lacrosse floor experiencing a full Vimy Lacrosse training session. Students are matched up with a current Vimy Lacrosse student-athlete who will guide them through the day. To schedule a Shadow Day contact Paul Rai at paul.rai@epsb.ca. We officially start accepting applications for the 2014/15 school year on February 1st and our Open House is scheduled for March 5th.

The 2014/15 school year will be Vimy Lacrosse’s 10th year. In the past nine years we have seen several of our alumni move to the NCAA, CIS, Prep School and Junior A teams. This past year two of our alumni graduated from NCAA schools; Kirby Zdrill from Yale and Matt Pick from Whittier. Another alumnus, Kevin Pym, was drafted to the Buffalo Bandits of the NLL. We are proud of our success on the field and the classroom. Vimy Lacrosse has led travel teams to tournaments in the United States over the past 10 years. This part of our program will be expanding during the 2014/15 school year as we develop school based teams to play in tournaments across North America. It is our objective to build a program where students are committed to their academics and their athletics. The ultimate goal of Vimy Lacrosse is to have athletes that wish to excel in the classroom and play lacrosse at the highest level possible. If student-athletes are interested in playing lacrosse at a Junior or college level, Vimy Lacrosse will work hard for them to achieve that objective. Over the past 9 years, Vimy Lacrosse has quickly become known as the premiere development program for lacrosse athletes in Alberta and we look forward to continued success as we move towards a full decade of excellence.
