Sean Connauton has been working as a skating and hockey skills coach since 2011. He has coached in the US, Finland, Sweden, and across Canada. Sean is passionate about working with students of all ages and abilities. In 2013 and 2014 he was the assistant coach of Team Brick Alberta and co-head coach of Team Jr. Brick Alberta.

Born in Edmonton, Sean attended Donnan Academy through Junior High. He went on to play in the AJHL and won a Doyle Cup Championship with the Camrose Kodiaks. Sean then played NCAA Division 1 hockey and while at Brown University he was also on the varsity golf team. In the summer of 2009 Sean attended the Edmonton Oilers Rookie Camp.

Sean’s younger brother Kevin is also a Donnan alumni and has been a professional hockey player since 2010. Including 10 seasons in the NHL and was a member of Team Canada at the Spengler Cup in 2022. Kevin has engaged Sean as coach throughout his career, and the brothers have been fortunate to be teammates, opponents, as well as co-coaches together.

In addition to hockey and golf, Sean enjoys many other sports including snowboarding and skiing. He also loves spending time with his family and friends.
