Donnan/Vimy Hockey Student-Athletes, Alumni and Staff Capture AJHL Championship
Congratulations to the Spruce Grove Saints, who captured the AJHL Championship with their 2-1 OT victory over the AJHL South Division Champion Drumheller Dragons last night.
The Saints have a large Vimy Hockey contingent that helped propel them to the championship, including student-athletes, alumni and staff.
Brandon Hickey, Riley Simpson and Isaac Farrah are all current student-athletes at Vimy Hockey on the Saints’ roster, while Colton Leiter is an alumnus of Donnan/Vimy Hockey.
As for Donnan/Vimy Hockey Staff, The Saints’ starting Goaltender was Kenny Cameron, who works with the goalies at Donnan Hockey. On the Bench, Vimy Hockey High School Instructor Jason McKee is the Head Coach and GM of the Saints, and Mike Ringrose, Junior High Instructor, is the Associate Coach. Working with the goalies both at Vimy and with the Saints, is Goaltending Consultant Dustin Schwartz.
Congratulations to these individuals as well as the whole Spruce Grove Saints organization, and good luck in the Western Canada Cup in Dauphin, MB at the end of the month.
