Education Advisor


castle_rogerRoger has worked with AAD at both Vimy and Donnan Schools since 1999. He was a teacher and school administrator for Elk Island Public Schools for 28 years, followed by eight years of teaching education courses at the University of Alberta and Concordia University College of Alberta.

Roger’s hockey officiating career spanned 25 years of on-ice service where he worked every level of minor hockey advancing to two levels of professional leagues. During that period, he worked several national championships at the Junior A, ACAC and CIS level while also representing Canada at the IIHF World Senior A Pool Championships and several other IIHF tournaments and events.

Roger served as the Director of Education for the AJHL from 2008 through 2003, the Education Advisor for the Edmonton Oil Kings for six years and the Manager of Education Services for the WHL from 2013 through 2014.

He is pleased once again to be providing education services to the student-athletes of Vimy and Donnan Schools in the areas of: SAT exam writing for NCAA eligibility, transitioning student-athletes attending WHL franchise schools to ensure High School graduation, and to coordinate the Vimy and Donnan scholarship programs.
